I am a doctor by profession and want to study further in Australia. But I came to know that the stay and food in Australia is much expensive. Now I want to know that either there is some program of Austrian Govt which can facilitate doctors to stay sound in Australia? I want to do my post graduation in Australia in Gynaecology or Medicine? You are asking about a medical residency. If you are accepted into a program - and it is unlikely as there are only a small number of positions available and they first go to Australian citizens and then international applicants who completed their medical degree in Australia prior to external applicants - a salary is usually given. There has been a 200% increase in the number of medical graduated being produced by Australian universities in recent years but the number of supervisors for specialist training has actually reduced meaning that many students who wish to specialise are not able to. (there were 340 spaces for 680 graduates in NSW in 2009 and none of the international students got places for internship)
