Her family can be your sponsor. Once you're there, make sure you get excellent grades and enter into an Australian University. Contact the Australian Immigration authority. They have a very informative website which will answer all your questions. http://www.immi.gov.au/

At age 16 you only have two possible options. 1. Go to school there through an exchange program. Those last for up to a year. A good program is EF Education, www.ef.com . Would be hard if you're on bad terms with your family though, as your family would have to sign, and most likely pay for it. 2. Get legally adopted by an Australian family. Would be harder since you would have to find an Australian family to legally adopt you. I'm sorry buddy, it's next to impossible to migrate without your parents if you're under 18. Once you turn 18, the possibilities open up. Your best bet is to graduate high school with a decent GPA, then apply for schools/universities in Australia, and get a student visa. Once you're 18 you could also apply for a working holiday visa. This visa lets you go to Australia and work for a year while on vacation. Another option when you are 18, if you and your gf are still together is to get married. If the marriage is valid, you can apply for residency, and eventually get Australian citizenship. DO NOT go to Australia and violate any immigration laws. You'll get caught, deported, and lose any possibility of getting a visa anywhere in the world, possibly for life. Best of luck though, just hang in there for 2 more years.

what do you need to be skilled at to live in Australia

what do you need to be skilled at to live in Australia?
Ive heard that in order to live in Australia you need to be skilled at something. Would being a mental health nurse do? Would it be easy to find a job as a nurse? What about physiotherapy?

I have herd the same thing i am going to be a zoologist with a bachelor degree in wildlife rehab and i want to move to Australia too,but i think they have to need someone in that field of work to let you immigrate...you can not move there and work without being a citizen!

Doctors Teachers Dentists Nurses In fact most professions require skilled labourers
3 :
Registered Mental Health Nurse is one of the critical in need professions at the moment (not physio). That means you will have no trouble getting a visa BUT that doesnt mean there will be a job here for you - many of the critical in need jobs are in the country (not in any of the cities - especially the health professionals) as locals prefer to work in cities instead of the country. For example - the Flying doctors service is almost entirely staff by overseas individuals.

They have been cutting down on the proffessions. Just recently they removed all trades, before if you were a plumber you could easily get in but now they can't. Nursing is an area that we are still looking for though. Nuses, doctors and teachers are the big ones.

Hi Lou, I am recent hospital discharge, was 5 weeks cardio ICU. One of the nurses overheard me saying I was planning on going for another holiday. She told me that she applied to move to Australia (Sydney) under the Professions clause. They put her through becuase she as certificates in the following areas Cardio ICU, Maternity, she can do deliveries or something, and Trauma Emergency Recieve or something to do with Emergency and trauma. She was saying they asked her if she was looking at working city or country, she is from the rural area over here, so she picked country, she says that's where the person that interviewd her smilled. There seems to be a lot of talking about nurse jobs here so I thought I'd point you to a forum on international nursing jobs: http://www.medworkworld.com/forumfolder Good Luck!

Cool, come on down, the country needs some more people. Why not study in Australia? You can get a degree and rack up time towards become a permanent resident at the same time. There is a huge skills and knowledge shortage in Australia, so do some Googling and see what's in most demand. I'd think that since you like teaching, why not have a look at doing an education degree. Do you have TESOL already? Then if so you can already get work in Australia, and it seems they are trying to pass a law about all immigrants needing a certain level of English, so there you go. Also visit the government's website for some ideas on the legal stuff: http://www.immi.gov.au/ Failing all of this, marry an Aussie Chick, they seem to go for Irish accents and your sense of humour, so give it a go.
