in may 2010 my friend graduates from college and we would like to go to australia for at least 6months.we want to bring enough money so that we can pay rent over there for 6months and have part time jobs or something so that we can pay for our personal expenses. i found a couple programs that allow you to work and stay over there. if anybody has done this or has any info it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

If your under 35 you may want to look at a working holiday visa. That will give you the rights to stay up to year and work in Australia. that's how most people do it. Easy and good.

depending where you are from Australia has a working holiday program that allows you to stay and work for up to 12 months http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-holiday/index.htm you must be 30 or under not 35 as the other user said
