no... this isn't a common law marriage thing. you have to apply for citizenship to any country other than your original. Except Japan, they do not allow naturalization.

No, You have to pass a citizenship test and complete the necessary paperwork, then wait for approval.

No there is nothing automatic about it. I have an Australian wife, my whole family are Australian and still if I wanted to move there I would have to apply for residency and then begin jumping through hoops and writing checks to the Dept. of Immigration

no in the case of marrying an Australian or migrating for other reasons you have to satisfy a residency requirement (recently moved up from 2 years to 4) and have to apply for citizenship. Applying for citizenship now includes taking a test and proving that you have lived there for the required period of time. Neither will make you a citizen automatically. You have to be here legally for at least 4 years including at least 1 as a Permanent Resident before being able to apply for citizenship. You must show that you are of good character and pass a citizenship test. If you marry a citizen, you have to satisfy our government that your marriage is a genuine one. You and your partner must show a mutual commitment to a shared life as husband and wife to the exclusion of all others. You and your partner must be living together or, if not, any separation must be only temporary. You must also have a genuine and continuing relationship with your partner. no you have to apply to become a citizen if your a foreigner living there if you marry an australian you have to apply for permanent residency then after 4 years you can apply for citizenship

No. You have to apply for citizenship if born in another country, if you want to become a citizen of Australia. If you have a visa & you marry an Australian while here, (I think you are allowed to stay on after the visa has run out) but to become a citizen, you still would need to apply for citizenship & fill out the forms/pass the test.

No it doesn't, I wish it did though, as I then wouldn't have to go through the citizenship test myself. It's an easy test, but too far to go to take it! I should have applied before they brought out the test ! A relative who came out here 30+ years ago has just taken the test, and is now an Aussie.
