I'm so sorry, I don't really have an answer for you, but am really interested in studying zoology, and was wondering what courses you did to get there? I'm kinda answering your question with a question, aren't I?! I hope you don't mind... (We have a place called Cleland here in Adelaide, they might have an opening?)

All parts of Australia are thick with reptiles, except perhaps less so in Tasmania. There is a reptile park I know in Renmark: Bredl's reptile park. You could just try the many zoos also, or perhaps the universities.

Sounds like you need to send a resume to Australia Zoo, Beerwah (Steve Irwin's legacy). The advantage is you can live on the Sunshine Coast!

Both Melbourne and Sydney have an excellent zoo, if you prefer a more regional town, there's Symbio or Nowra Wildlife Park both south of Sydney.

Australia Zoo was originally a Reptile Park, before it branched out, but still has a huge collection of Lizards, Snakes, Turtles, Alligators and of course Crocodiles. And it is situated in Queensland, which is the best state in Australia.

The Australian Reptile Park is home to the largest collection of reptiles in Australia just a few minutes away from the city of Gosford on the beautiful central coast of NSW ! hour 10 minutes by car from Sydney http://www.reptilepark.com.au/

Melbourne Zoo! You can work with reptiles there 24/7! Melbourne is Australia's best city with low crime, good job prospects and a sustainable economy. It is also located in Australia's true best state Victoria! :) Have fun at Melbourne Zoo.
