i live in australia and i was wondering how to send a text messege to the usa from aus. i've tried the 0011+1+area code+phone number thing, but it doesnt work. can someone please help me?

contact your cell phone service company operator, or just walk into the store. they should be able to tell you

I suggest you try using AIM or Yahoo Messenger to send a text to a US phone number. +1 before the phone number as the recipient should do the trick. Yall can reply back and forth as if you were chatting online. It's free for you but they'll get charged normal text fees, not international text fees if you were to text phone to phone.

dont use "0" as initials. instead of "00", use "+".. now send messages. it will work for sure
