think you automatically get a Special Visa when you arrive in Australia
as long as you meet certain security, character and health
requirements. Once your passport has the arrival stamp it is the only
evidence that you hold this visa.
and as far as I know because I have a friend there and she fall in love
with the country , you can actually stay and work in Australia
indefinitely as long as you remain of good character.
